Presidio Hill School
Presidio Hill is a private K-8th grade school in San Francisco that is over 100 years old. The school preceded the stately homes that were built around and now enclose the school. Confined by their surroundings, the school purchased an adjacent property that allowed them to plan a new outdoor center, creating a heart for the school community where all could gather. Elements within a generally T-shaped area consist of a series of interlocking circular forms that include a water runnel and water table with a sand surface, a semicircular wood amphitheater seating area and a pebble pit. A half-circle seat wall features log benches built from wood milled from an over-mature tree removed from the site. The leg of the T has ample room for a metal and rope climbing structure.
