Seaport Center Tree Master Plan

Our phased master plan and design for this 125-acre commercial development, built on stabilized shoreline near the Port of Redwood City, establishes a low water-use approach to replacing and maintaining street trees that are in declining health, in part due to their overly close spacing. Additionally, our design incorporates inviting and accessible sidewalks to resolve the sunken and poor drainage conditions of the current ones. The use of lawn will be reduced to conserve water and decrease maintenance, and berms that currently screen the parking lots from the street will be replaced with drought-tolerant plantings, achieving a similar screening effect. The site entry/gateway design, the pilot phase of the 5- to 8-year plan, is currently underway.
